The development team behind Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint plans to roll out two major title updates this year, one will usher in an improved team experience, while the other introduces a brand-new operation. To the dismay of many a Ghost Recon Wildlands fan, AI teammates were not available in?Breakpoint?on day one. Developer Ubisoft Paris implemented the team AI?feature in a July 2020 update, several months after the title’s October 2019 debut.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint struggled upon its arrival, failing to meet player expectations, which, in turn, culminated in a disappointing sales performance. Ubisoft Paris has since worked tirelessly to improve the overall experience by releasing free updates, fresh content, and in-game events. Last spring’s?addition of Immersive Mode especially helped?transform Breakpoint, thanks to its emphasis on?survival and more hardcore gameplay options. Now the development team is cooking up two more game-changing updates.

The planned additions include new XP progression for AI squads, complete with passive skill and ability unlocks. A “dedicated quest log” is joining the mix as well, which should encourage players to experiment with the teammate changes. Title Update 4.1.0 launches on an unspecified date this fall, according to the Ubisoft breakdown. Specifics?presently remain classified, barring a note?that patch 4.1.0 will introduce one of Breakpoint’s biggest operations to date. Ubisoft’s graphic for the roadmap indicates the?previously teased Tomb Raider celebration crossover may?arrive during?the summer months.

These?future changes serve as proof positive that?Ubisoft remains committed to fully supporting Ghost Recon Breakpoint despite its early stumbles. Whether or not players will continue to invest in?the experience isn’t known, but the content roadmap seems a good show of faith on the publisher’s part.

Most?of Ubisoft’s major releases have received persistent post-launch support?of this nature in recent years. The Tom Clancy-branded titles are notably leading the charge on this front, with both Rainbow Six Siege and The Division 2 still receiving big updates long after their respective releases.
