Finally, MW2 Remastered Multiplayer could be coming out this year!
The original Modern Warfare 2 is a certified classic. Call of Duty fans and gamers worldwide absolutely love it.
While Modern Warfare 2 Remastered lets players experience one of the biggest twists in gaming history again, it missed a key component. The campaign is legendary, but the multiplayer was what kept fans playing for hundreds of hours.
Therefore, many fans were disappointed to find out that there was no multiplayer with MW2 Remastered. However, this rumor suggests that remastered multiplayer could be right around the corner.

A new rumor suggests that Modern Warfare Multiplayer Remastered could be the main Call of Duty release in 2021. The anonymous source also suggests that Activision will delay or scrap the already leaked Call of Duty WWII Vanguard.
It is important to take this “leak” with a grain of salt, as it is anonymous, and there is no way to verify whether this person works for Sledgehammer Games. However, it lines up with some information that we already know.
There has already been a huge leak about Modern Warfare Multiplayer Remastered, stating it will release this year.
The message from a leaker, shared by @DeclassifiedCOD suggests that MW2 Multiplayer remastered will be this year’s only Call of Duty title and that WWII Vanguard will not come out in 2021.
This ‘leak’ also alleges that the reason behind this is twofold. Firstly, that WWII Vanguard developer Sledgehammer Games is having trouble porting assets into the new game engine.
Secondly, with Activision’s long-term priority being Warzone, the publisher has decided to give some more resources and control to MW and Warzone developer Infinity Ward.
Therefore, the Call of Duty content for 2021 will be Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Multiplayer and content for Cold War. Maybe Activision’s claims that old War will be supported for 4 years are true?
Also, the leaker alleges that Activision will spin this Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Multiplayer announcement and Warzone content as a ‘fan event’ that will lead to the next full game in the series. This event could finally see the introduction of Soap MacTavish into Warzone.
This also makes sense as Warzone year 2 will get many more live events.
However, if this rumor is accurate, where does this leave the future of the Call of Duty game that many fans thought was releasing this year – WWII Vanguard?
This leak about Modern Warfare 2 Remastered Multiplayer seems far-fetched. However, it lines up with previous rumors about the 2021 Call of Duty Game, WWII Vanguard.
A reliable leaker has already revealed that Call of Duty WWII Vanguard may not release in 2021 after all.
Meanwhile, another industry insider claims that WWII Vanguard is a “disaster”. This is very similar to what the rumor suggests.
Therefore, if Call of Duty WWII Vanguard isn’t coming out this year, Activision will still want to release a title to keep fans happy and to keep them from switching to the new Battlefield game, which promises to be absolutely amazing.
Only time will tell whether this rumor has any truth to it, but Activision did have a tweet with this information taken down for copyright reasons. Would Activision bother to copyright strike a ‘leak’ that is totally false?
