  Want to get involved and?help folks in the Ozarks access affordable housing? Here are several ways the United Way of the Ozarks has identified to lend a hand, in-person or virtually, along with a number of resources for folks with a housing need.

  From painting, nailing, raising walls, to laying floors, there is always a fun activity going on at Habitat sites. Volunteer opportunities are also available through special events and committees. Their construction team is there to train and help volunteers, so no experience required.

  The Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a nonprofit home improvement store and donation center that sells new and gently used furniture, appliances, home accessories, building materials and more to the public at a fraction of the retail price.

  The Salvation Army Family store is a nonprofit secondhand shop that takes tax-deductible donations of clothing, furniture, household goods and appliances to distribute to their affordable Family Stores. All proceeds are used to fund their program and services. Additionally, those who wish to donate can schedule a pick-up of goods.

  The Harbor House provides long-term housing and assistance to men that are homeless in the Springfield area. Men in this program have the opportunity to maintain sobriety, work towards a college education, enter the workforce, receive counseling, drug and alcohol rehabilitation and much more.

  The Salvation Army’s Family Enrichment Center is a long-term intervention program that provides hope and practical assistance to Springfield families as they seek to break the cycle of homelessness.
